Exclusive to Defiance:
Directing Jan was always a good challenge. At the time of shooting The
Palace - Jan had some recent injuries from a dog and was in a certain
amount of pain recovering from it all. True to the form of a talented
actor he pushed through the shoot, helping me ad lib some dialogue that
production had neglected to get him beforehand. As a first time
director I found him to be very modest, rather sensitive at times and
always that classic Jan Michael Vincent smile when we needed it - on or
off camera.
