Jan-Michael began his career by using the name Michael Vincent and received a contract with Universal. After filming the TV movie, Tribes he started using his entire name, Jan-Michael Vincent. It was around this time that he met his first wife, Bonnie Purman. Soon after they married they had a daughter, Amber who was born on the day Jan-Michael completed the film, Buster and Billy. At first they seemed to be the ideal couple, both extremely good looking and charming to boot. Jan-Michael became the screen idol of the 70's producing films with many established names in the acting world. The happiness was not to last however as Jan-Michael began using alcohol and drugs on the path to self-destruction.
